Country Facts:  Sweden is a Nordic country in Scandinavia bordering Finland and Norway. Sweden joined the EU in 1995. Most of Sweden's nine million people live in urban areas in the southern part of the country. Climates in Sweden vary from the oceanic climate in the south to more humid in the central area to a subartic climate in the north.
