The Sound of Prayers Rising in the DRC
Bordering Rwanda to the east, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, commonly referred to as the DRC, is the second largest country in Africa. Terri McCrae and Audrey West traveled with e3 Partners to both of these countries, spending time in the DRC to lead a Moms in Prayer women's conference. Before leaving on the trip challenges came their way, but the Lord gave them strength.
The day of the conference, they climbed into a van to travel from Rwanda across the DRC border to the city of Goma. Driving several miles through crowded streets, they finally reached the church where they were greeted by 191 Congolese women and their children dressed in colorful African outfits.
The conference began with a teaching about the heart and character of God. As the women listened, the Holy Spirit worked in their hearts resulting in a change in their countenance. Afterward, everyone spent time singing, dancing and worshiping the Lord. The afternoon was spent training the women in the Four Steps of Prayer. "I never cease to be deeply stirred by the sound of prayers rising from small clusters of women pouring their hearts out before God," said Terri.
After praying for these precious women, it was time to leave. They knew God deserved all the glory because He alone inspired and energized this gathering. Terri testifies, "I could not have imagined in my teenage years that forty years later I would be leading a prayer conference in the DRC, dancing in worship with women of great spirit and resilience, and reveling in the mysterious ways of God." Please pray for these Congolese women, the pastors, and their families that the Lord will protect them and many mothers will gather to pray for their children and schools.
"Let them praise His name with the dance; let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp. For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; he will beautify the humble with salvation." Psalm 142:3-4 (NKJV)
Moms in Prayer Reaches the Heights of Bolivia
The beauty of Sucre, Bolivia is evident in the colonial architecture and location, perched at 9,000 feet elevation. Mariana Campbell and Michelle Henige traveled to this South American city of over 200,000 people with e3 Partners where they presented Moms in Prayer at four different locations.
Six to seven women attended each session and the Lord was faithful to bring hungry hearts. As they shared with moms in Kora Kora, just outside of Sucre, they discovered that most women did not have a Bible. What an incredible opportunity to share the Good News with the women including the Scriptures in the Moms in Prayer Booklet. Indigenous mothers received Spanish Booklets with joy, resulting in four new Moms in Prayer groups.
Mariana noticed that the trip stretched her in several ways. "It was physically grueling due to the high elevation, even higher than Denver's where I live, but God was faithful and His strength was made perfect in my weakness." As a result of the trip and the faithfulness of God to bring women to share Moms in Prayer with mothers in Bolivia, children and schools in this area will now be covered in prayer. Join us in asking the Lord to impact these schools for Christ and multiply Moms in Prayer groups throughout Bolivia.
"to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ." Ephesians 4:12-13 (NRSV)
