Kyungsook Lee accepted Christ as her savior at a young age. Later in her twenties after being married for four years, she was discipled and trained in mission work. She worked in churches and for mission organizations, spending much of her time focused on children’s ministry.
Today Kyungsook is devoted to discipling women and preaching God’s Word in Sydney, Australia where she has led women's ministry since her move there from South Korea in 2004. The Lord combined Kyungsook’s experience in working with children and women when in her 25th year of ministry, He led her to join the Moms in Prayer movement of praying for children and schools. “Moms in Prayer is a precious ministry of raising the next generation for God’s glory,” she confirms.
Kyungsook, along with translators and partners Eunha Kang, Unse Lee, Daeja Kim, Eunsil Cho, Hwanglan Lee, Hweasook Lee and Songok Kang, helped start 140 groups in Korean churches in Sydney, Brisbane and Ryde using the Igniting a Passion to Pray Bible Study. Reaching out to pastors’ wives and training them has resulted in a group established in each church. God has recently brought her more English speaking, second generation immigrants who can reach out to Australian moms as well.
Coordinating Moms in Prayer groups and events for the past three years, Kyungsook has seen God do many exciting things including transformations in moms’ hearts, healing in families and unity in working with other ethnic moms and churches. “Above all, I have witnessed God raising His great army through Moms in Prayer women,” testifies Kyungsook.
Now called to the regional coordinator role for Korean speaking groups in Australia, Kyungsook states that God confirmed this calling through Judges 6 where the Lord saves Israel out of the Midianite's hands. “I realized that the fervent prayers of moms are needed to save the next generation from worldly thoughts and humanism.”
The Lord is doing this very thing as over 200 Moms in Prayer groups meet to pray for children and schools in Australia, including Korean and English speaking groups. Join us in thanking the Lord for calling Kyungsook to this role and pray that God will guide her and her team and continue to build strong Moms in Prayer groups throughout Australia.
