Why did Moms In Touch International change to Moms in Prayer International?
Our mission and vision remain the same: praying for children and schools. Now, our name describes what we do. It brings simplicity and clarity to the mission and vision, and the word “prayer” gives unity to our Moms in Prayer groups around the world since it is more easily translated into other languages.
Has anything else in the ministry changed?
No. Our vision and mission statement remain the same: to call moms around the world to meet regularly to pray using the Four Steps of Prayer, in one accord, agreement prayer for God to transform children and schools. The core values and statement of faith are exactly the same.
Until our current inventory is depleted, we will continue to use our two key resources, the Moms In Touch International Booklet and the Leader’s Guide & Personal Prayer Time. Please continue to encourage women to use these important tools. Our ministry remains the same, only the name has changed.
We are working to update online resources to incorporate the new name. While we will maintain www.MomsInTouch.org, our main web address will now be www.MomsInPrayer.org. Throughout January, we will be working to update our email addresses from @MomsInTouch.org to @MomsInPrayer.org. To ensure that you continue to get our ministry emails, please add email@MomsInPrayer.org to your contact list.
Is this the exciting announcement Fern referred to in her December video?
Yes! When Fern Nichols, president and founder of Moms In Touch International, shared in the December video about exciting news that will unify the ministry and launch us to a greater harvest of praying moms and transformed children and schools, she was referring to the name change! Can I use the Moms In Touch materials and resources I currently have?
YES! We continue to own the Moms In Touch International trademark. We are slowly adding new Moms in Prayer resources, but please continue to use your Moms In Touch items, as our mission and vision remain the same. Only our name has changed.
What are some of the new Moms in Prayer resources?
Our resources featuring the new name, Moms in Prayer, include Moms in Prayer Brochure, Bookmark, Lawn Sign, Vehicle Magnet, Greeting Card, Small Logo Stickers and Large Logo Stickers. Coming soon will be a heart-shaped button, pen, pack of 10 pencils and and our revised prayer curriculum, Igniting a Passion to Pray.
Along with our Moms In Touch International Booklet and Leader’s Guide, we will continue to sell our popular Moms In Touch gift items such as the beautiful and cozy hoodies and coffee mugs.
How do I share the name change with the school I pray for?
When appropriate, please share the new name with the principal of the school you pray for, especially before encouraging the staff through Words and Deeds.
When is the name change effective?
As of January 2, 2012, the ministry will now be known as Moms in Prayer International. We are changing our online resources and will slowly change the name on our products, as we continue to maintain the Moms In Touch International trademark.
When I share the ministry with my church, women’s group or local media, should I use the name Moms in Prayer?
Yes, as we are now officially Moms in Prayer International, we would appreciate it if you would publicize the ministry as Moms in Prayer. You may add “formerly Moms In Touch” so women that know the Moms In Touch name will understand this is the same ministry.
We are updating the publicity materials at Get the Word Out if you would like to use our official flyers, press release, PowerPoint, banner, trifold, etc.
However, we do understand if you have invested money in publicity materials, such as Brochures and Prayer Cards. Please feel free to continue to use what you have. Our www.MomsInTouch.org web address printed on those items will remain active. Our ministry and materials remain the same, only the name has changed.
Will you use the acronym MIPI?
No, we will not be using “MIPI.” Instead, we will use Moms in Prayer to help familiarize everyone with this new name God has given us.
